ProbateRisk

Privacy Policy

Effective August 23, 2026

ProbateRisk is a technology platform that helps law firms welcome estate planning clients, gather the information a plan requires, and prepare draft documents for attorney review. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it in plain English on purpose.

Information we collect

Interview information. When you complete an estate planning interview, you provide the information a plan is built from: your name and contact details, your spouse or partner's name and contact details, family information including the names and birthdates of children, the people you nominate for roles such as trustee, personal representative, and health care agent, general ranges describing your assets, and your wishes for your plan.

Account information. We collect your email address and use one time sign in codes to secure your session. We do not store passwords.

Sales and scheduling information. If you contact us or schedule a demo, we collect what you submit, such as your name, firm, email, phone, and message.

Technical information. Like nearly every website, our systems record basic technical logs, such as device and browser information, needed to operate and secure the service. We do not use advertising cookies or cross site tracking, and we never sell personal information.

How we use information

We use the information you provide to operate the service: to run your interview and save your progress, to prepare materials and draft documents for review by the law firm you work with, to route matters that need attorney attention to an attorney, to communicate with you about your plan or our services, and to secure, maintain, and improve the platform. We may also use information as required to comply with law.

Your law firm

When you use an interview branded for a law firm, we process your information on that firm's behalf and share it with that firm, including by delivering it into the firm's own practice management systems. Your relationship, and the professional obligations that protect you, are with that firm and its attorneys. The firm's own policies also govern its use of your information.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of established providers to run the platform, under agreements that limit their use of your information to providing services to us: Netlify for hosting, Supabase for our database, Resend and Google Workspace for email, and Calendly for scheduling. We do not permit them to use your information for their own purposes.

Children

Our services are for adults. Estate plans naturally include information about children, such as names and birthdates, and we collect that information only as provided by an adult for the purpose of their plan. We never knowingly collect information directly from children.

Security

Information is encrypted in transit, access is limited to what operating the service requires, and we use reputable United States cloud providers. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we treat your information the way a law office should be treated: carefully.

Retention and your choices

We retain information while your interview or account is active, while the firm you work with maintains its engagement with us, and as required by law. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information at any time by emailing info@probaterisk.com, and the firm you work with may direct us regarding its clients' information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here with a new effective date. Material changes will be flagged clearly.
